CAD Designer/ Revit
Radiation shielding engineering division is seeking a CAD Designer/Revit that will report to Senior Shielding Designers and the Director of Engineering. The CAD Designer/Revit will primarily be responsible for design, drafting, and management of a range of shielding projects for healthcare, research, and industrial applications. You will be trained in radiation design by one of the top radiation design groups in the world. No prior radiation shielding experience necessary; however, it is imperative that you have a strong desire to learn, acute attention to detail, and solid critical thinking skills. Standard training duration is one to two years while you are introduced to shielding design, begin to implement your training, and are accelerated to more challenging project types.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to prepare construction documents • Work closely with Project Managers and Executives, physicists, architects, contractors, and structural engineers to develop tailormade radiation shielding designs • Produce and implement design and construction documents, packages, and sketches using standard shielding design procedures, means, and methods based on sketches or ideas from others • Ability to handle design problems and show a high degree of drafting ability with project organization experience • Frequent coordination, communication, and/or problem solving within the project team • Management of up to 5-10 projects at a time, varying in size and complexity
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities • Associates degree with coursework in drafting/design a plus • 1 to 3 years of experience in Architecture, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred • Technical proficiency in building construction, techniques, and materials; understanding of design, materials, and construction • Skilled knowledge of 2D and 3D (REVIT) AutoCAD software for architectural or structural design, rendering, detailing, and project management purposes, emphasizing in steel and concrete construction
