Founded in 2015, AccuTune Off-Road specializes in making Jeeps, Trucks, and off-road Buggies ride more comfortably and perform better on road and off-road by selling premium suspension products paired with custom tuned shocks. Our founder has been in the Automotive suspension industry since 2001 and started AccuTune Off-Road to provide a better experience for customers and employees. AccuTune Off-Road just launched their new product line: Ride Shocks. Ride Shocks is a line of premium 2.5 shock absorbers with dual compression adjusters and aluminum design.


AccuTune Off-Road and Ride Shocks is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our engineering team. The perfect candidate has experience designing and building off-road suspension systems using engineering calculations and 3D CAD software. Experience with shock absorber design and a passion for off-road is required. Management experience is not required however project management and high level engineering experience is.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering team to develop new products.
  • Design off-road suspension parts such as shock absorbers, Upper Control Arms, Lift Springs, etc.
  • Design production tooling to make new products and improve production of existing products.
  • Evaluate designs using engineering principles, hand calculations, and computer simulations.
  • Create 3D models and drawings in Solidworks using best practices & GD&T.
  • Create testing requirements and design test equipment.
  • Conduct fitment, performance & durability tests.
  • Work with suppliers to source new products & improve existing products.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Manage engineering change process.
  • Maintain project schedules.


Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • At least 5 years of engineering experience, and at least 2 years designing off-road suspension.
  • Experience with the off-road industry & popular platforms for universal fit (Ultra 4, Jeeps, rockcrawlers, prerunners, VW, sand rail, buggies, common racing classes, etc.) and OEM fit (Toyota, Jeep, Chevy, Ford, Dodge).
  • Active off-road enthusiast with hands on suspension experience (eg, fabrication and installation of suspension parts).
  • Experience with common software (Solidworks, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
  • Excellent written, verbal, intrapersonal communication skills; ability to call, connect and interact with customers and coworkers.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to set and maintain project schedules.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized while handling multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.


What AccuTune Offers:

Salary: $125-150k/year total target compensation

Bonus: Depends on Performance

Health Care: Kaiser Bronze 60 HMO 6300/75 – 100% paid by AccuTune

Higher plans available at marginal employee expense

Dental: AccuTune pays 50% of monthly fee, Delta Dental PPO Advantage 400

401K: 3% Company 401k Contribution (100% vested, no employee contribution required). Traditional & Roth plans available for personal contribution.

Holidays: 7 days per year

Vacation: 13 days, growing at 1 day per year up to 23 days

Sick: 2 days per year

Hours: 6:45am - 4:30pm (Expect ~9hrs/day of work)
