The Plant Engineer will perform engineering activities at the branch ranging including daily production troubleshooting, upgrading and modifying systems, and project management responsibilities.

Position Accountabilities
Supervise mechanical and electrical contractors during construction and installation of process systems. This includes layout and design, subcontractor site inspection of equipment being fabricated as well as field installation, verification, troubleshooting, commissioning and start up.
Indirect responsibility for staff assigned to project teams.
Responsible for daily engineering support to all facility processes including chemical processes, utilities and abatement systems. Develop and maintain preventative maintenance program, schedule and ensure plant maintenance is completed on time.
Responsible for the design and specification of production processes, including development of system requirements, equipment specifications, functional specifications, and P & IDs.
Responsible for defining, reviewing and approving system scope, designs, schedule and budget for projects contracted to outside engineering firms.
Responsible for ensuring that projects are installed on time/on budget and meet all scope and design requirements.
Minimal travel required.

Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with 5 years experience in the chemical process industries. Specialty gas and high purity process experience highly desirable. Self-starter with ability to analyze chemical systems, identify problems and implement engineered solutions. Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and equipment sizing. Ability to understand and develop P & IDs and layout drawings. Experience in basic CAD programs desirable. Experience in working with and directing contract engineering firms at the proposal, bid package, and execution (fabrication/installation/startup) phases of a project. Experience in preparing and obtaining city permits and interfacing with regulatory agencies. Experience with PC applications software, including AutoCAD and MS Project.

Excellent communications skills required at all levels including plant operations, engineering and management.
