MID Systems Engineer – PMW160
Job Description:
The individual will be assigned as a Staff Systems Engineer for PEO C4I, PMW 160 in support of the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) program. This person will be responsible for providing technical and programmatic analysis in support of ADNS and provide strong knowledge of systems engineering, developing solutions, and implementing enhancements across applications and hardware. The individual will support the requirements development process, working with program managers, systems engineers, and configuration managers to ensure adherence to NAVWAR guidance.
The individual will represent PMW 160 interests and liaison between PEO C4I and numerous other internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for requirements development for the legacy ADNS system as well as the next generation Software Defined Network (SDN).
- Responsible for Configuration Management processes of system-wide documentation, as well as understanding hardware/software engineering changes across the system.
- Perform analyses that cover areas such as complete ADNS-based documentation review for change impacts and update identification, all Enterprise Change Requests (ECR) and System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) related documentation reviews for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform technical baseline management and event based technical reviews with ADNS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), other solution owners, and Lead Systems Integrators.
Basic Qualifications:
- Security clearance required prior to start: Secret
- BS from an accredited college in related discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Etc.)
- 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
- Proven ability to effectively lead and collaborate in a dispersed team environment
- Experience working with and presenting to internal and external customers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
Desired Skills:
- Experience developing system, hardware, and performance requirements
- Experience in technology integration of complex systems
- Experience working within a System Development Life Cycle
- Knowledge of the DOORS tool suite
- Basic understanding of communications and network infrastructure systems
- Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Methodical approach to problem solving
- Understanding of tactical afloat network engineering (ADNS/CANES engineering experience is a plus)
- Understanding of ship and shore-based Navy Communications and Network Infrastructure systems
Clearance Requirement: This position requires an active government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Ability to Work Remotely: A mix of on-site and remote. Nominally, the individual is expected to spend at least two days each week on-site.
Work Schedules: Mission Focused System Inc., MFS, supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be flexed. These flexed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
