Job Description:

The Technical Product Manager (TPM), UI will bring technical knowledge for a role within product management that emphasizes technical and functional aspects of maintaining, integrating, and developing a UI Design System and features into Vertex solutions using the latest technologies. The TPM will collaborate with other product managers and cross-functional teams to build and support internal systems interoperability while driving innovation. The TPM will be involved in various activities to ensure product readiness including working in a cross-functional capacity to End to End solution. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical platform level products through all stages of the product's life cycle including definition, development, release, and post release activities.
  • Define Features, User stories, and low-level requirements for the platform/services/system evolution, enabling the engineering team to execute with defined non-functional and business requirements that support business and customer needs for both existing and new initiatives.
  • Serve as Product Owner for the product team.
  • Engaging with technical colleagues on current and future initiatives that result in enhancements and opportunities that feed into a product roadmap.
  • Evaluating new technologies and software releases for their applicability toward the development of or incorporation into Vertex Products
  • Evaluating and presenting business opportunities to Vertex management and executives.
  • Conducting research and analysis of competitive information as needed
  • Lead or participate in other activities, agile ceremonies or duties as assigned. Other functions may be assigned, and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to test with Accessibility tools such as NVDA is highly preferred.
  • Understand the nuances of releasing features that impact multiple downstream product teams (i.e. semantic versioning)
  • Demonstrated experience successfully defining product roadmaps, setting product strategy, and driving the execution of product development initiatives in support of company objectives while managing and prioritizing tasks for optimal execution.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into features and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate the value of technical security features to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset to make informed decisions about product and feature prioritization.
  • Prioritize backlog based on business needs and engineering constraints.
  • Must be able to quickly understand complex technical concepts and identify how they affect business value and timelines.
  • Serve as Product Owner to Vertex product/program teams, coordinating planning efforts in alignment with other ecosystem initiatives, and demonstrating the ability determine satisfaction of defined acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working in a cloud-native technology company, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solutions, modern cloud technologies (microservices, Kubernetes, CD pipelines, etc.), and a strong familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or others.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in the domains of related experience. A passion for continuous growth and learning.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including software developers, software architects, UX/UI designers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical products.
  • Proficient in agile product development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, with experience leading agile teams to deliver iterative and incremental product releases.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.


Educational Qualifications And Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Five plus years of technical product management experience on an enterprise platform product with expertise in evolving a UI Component Library, maintain package repos/enablement tools, web applications (Micro frontends) and Accessibility.
  • 3+ years experience with UI development, preferably with React.
