Role Summary:
OTA and software configuration management are at the core of Rivian’s ability to rapidly develop and launch new variants and platforms in a scalable manner. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to define and develop and end to end architecture for managing software configurations that enables teams inside and outside the software org to scale gracefully as our fleet and product portfolio scales.
Responsibilities:
Drive end to end execution of vehicle configuration initiatives; taking on development, integration, and test responsibilities where necessary to ensure timely delivery
Arbitrating discussions to add new software configurations and driving the addition of these new configurations through to production
Work with stakeholders around software and with joint venture partners to ensure new software and product variants are supported in a scalable manner
Define and drive development of new schemas and architectures for managing configurations on vehicle and at a fleet level
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science/Engineering
4+ years of experience working on complex, cross-functional, distributed software
systems
4+ years of experience developing application software in python
Experience developing for embedded systems in C/C++/Rust/Carbon
Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP)
Experience developing or integrating NATS messaging for distributed systems
Experience with software configuration management in either a DevOps or integrated
system context
Ecellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in configuration management on a complex electromechanical product (Automotive, Aerospace, Defense)
Experience with systems engineering and common systems analysis practices
Experience with TCP/IP systems
Experience with remotely connected systems
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $186,000-$232,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
