Found Energy is building clean energy delivery platforms capable of replacing fossil fuels for heavy industries ranging from aluminum production (4% of global CO2 emissions) to fertilizer production (2% of global CO2 emissions) to maritime shipping (3% of global CO2 emissions). Building off technology developed at MIT that enables metallic aluminum to split water, our energy delivery systems safely generate hydrogen and industrial heat on-site at >5x the volumetric energy density of liquid hydrogen and >3x that of methanol and ammonia. By integrating storage, transport, and generation into a single package, our technology solves some of the biggest pain points in renewable energy transportation and storage.
At Found Energy, we believe in securing a livable and equitable future for our planet, and we are looking for partners who are motivated by this goal to join us. For more information, visit .
Benefits Overview:
Health, dental, vision, 20 days PTO, 11 holidays, unlimited sick days, 12 weeks parental leave, stock options, professional development budget, and more.
Job Overview:
Found Energy has demonstrated its core hydrogen generation technologies at the kW-scale, including a system capable of powering a full-sized electric vehicle. We are now working to scale up the reactor system for both our minimum viable product (MVP) and commercial pilot demonstrations. The completion of the MVP and commercial pilots requires designing and testing numerous sub-processes and sub-systems at the targeted industrial scale, as well as at various intermediate scales along the way.
As an Electrical Engineer Technician, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and optimizing electrical and control systems for our pilot and commercial reactor projects. You'll work closely with hardware engineers and our R&D teams to create test stands that derisk core technologies. You will also contribute to designing and wiring circuits for prototypes and production systems, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of electrical circuits, control systems, and power electronics.
- Fabricate, modify, and assemble electrical components, including wiring, soldering, and harness assembly.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers.
- Work with the engineering team to develop and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Lead the integration and testing of sensors, instrumentation, motors and actuators.
- Document and report test results, assembly procedures, and equipment modifications.
- Support safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of test equipment and laboratory infrastructure.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of engineering operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project development and execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an electrical or electronics technician, preferably in an R&D or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting using standard tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage power systems, power electronics, and electrical safety practices.
- Familiarity with control systems, PLCs, and automation is a plus.
- Familiarity with NEC, UL508a and UL698a preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
