Job Description
Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated Traffic Engineer in our Baltimore, MD (Owings Mills) office. This position offers tremendous potential for career advancement in a highly collaborative environment, while working on a broad range of project types for transportation clients such as MSHA, MDTA, and VDOT. Projects will range from local community-focused safety and multimodal projects to large freeway improvement projects. Primary responsibilities will be performing traffic engineering design and analysis related to traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, lighting, work zone traffic control, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and traffic operational analyses. Experience in all of these disciplines is not required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of traffic engineering experience, including experience on MSHA, MDTA, and/or design-build projects. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in groups.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include design and analysis for various traffic related tasks as noted above, working in a team environment, and collaborating with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit. The Candidate may also prepare design and cost estimates, meet with clients, and assist in proposal development.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- BS in Civil Engineering or related
- EIT required, PE preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic engineering
- MSHA, MDTA and/or design-build experience preferred
- MicroStation experience required
- Proficiency with ITS design desirable
- Working knowledge of VDOT and/or MDOT standards preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Leadership skills desirable
