Enterprise Technical Architect - DevOps
The Enterprise Technical Architect for DevOps will provide expertise in modern application and service development, testing, security, and deployment methods, technology, and tooling. This individual will have direct experience in designing and developing pipelines to automate technical solution lifecycles using continuous integration and deployment (CI:CD) in a cloud context, and be prepared to support similar at ADM. This individual will have a good grasp of technical design principles and support the development of enterprise design patterns, artifacts, and repositories for Enterprise DevOps services. This is a technical role, and requires a facility both with Technical Architecture design, and hands-on DevOps engineering capabilities. The role is located in ADM’s Cloud Center of Excellence and reports into ADM Enterprise Architecture, specifically the Senior DevOps Architect. This is important role in strategic organization, where you will work alongside highly skilled colleagues deploying some of the best new technologies.
This is an Architect-level position within ADM’s Enterprise Architecture team. It requires communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with IT colleagues, fellow architects, and delivery professionals.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and support pipelines to support integrated development, testing, and deployment of cloud services and applications with adherence to DevSecOps Architecture.
- Support service and application teams in implementation and use of DevSecOps CI/CD workflows including building, reviews, and approvals.
- Develop, implement, and support the DevSecOps platform and integrations.
- Build DevSecOps automations that improve users’ experience.
- Work with Developers, Security, and Operations to manage code changes and deploy infrastructure and application in a secure way.
- Contribute to the definition of DevSecOps-related roadmaps, standards, and reference architecture patterns.
- If required, support cross-functional solution design efforts involving applications, platforms, networks, and security.
- Support design reviews.
- Support Digital team MVP exercises.
- Help maintain DevSecOps technical standards.
- Manage adherence to defined architecture standards throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide oversight and coaching to developers as part of the Architecture Services Organization.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and utilize this knowledge to educate both IT and the business on opportunities to build better target architectures that support and drive business decisions.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of IT experience.
- 2 years of direct technical DevSecOps experience, including experience on GitHub.
- 2 years designing and/or delivering Code Repository services on GitHub.
- 1+ years of direct technical application virtualization and orchestration experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
- 1+ years of experience providing “Infrastructure as Code” and/or configuration management using at least two of Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- “Associate” level certification in Azure among the following: DevOps Architect, Security Architect, Data Architect, Application Architect, Analytics Architect.
- Azure DevOps Engineer certification preferred.
- Ability to generate high level solution design artifacts involving DevSecOps and related technologies.
- Experience conducting design reviews and architecture reviews involving DevOps.
- Understanding of network architecture.
- Understanding of security architecture and identity management.
- Solid grasp of IT governance and controls.
- Grasp of automation platforms.
- Strong interpersonal collaboration skills and ability to work across technology domains.
- Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate both upward and down.
- Strong technical design skills.
