Staff Backend Software Engineer - Reliable Infrastructure

About the role

Moloco is looking for a talented Backend Software Engineer to join the Reliable Infrastructure team. The team's mission is to maintain business continuity of the cloud infrastructure platform for Moloco's DSP (Demand Side Platform) business by achieving infrastructure reliability and availability. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to build back-end infrastructure software solutions to improve reliability, observability, and availability of DSP infrastructure and improve their operational speed and quality. As a member of the team, you will lead the team in defining and implementing the right reliability solutions that best meet the needs of the DSP engineering teams.

Our core ML serving infrastructure handles over 5 million requests per second, which is about 80 times the traffic of Google search. Our data processing platforms ingest over 10 petabytes of data per day. These massive workloads present us with unique and challenging reliability, availability, scalability, and operational issues. As a member of the DSP Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to solve these huge challenges with the engineers who built the platform and the latest technologies.

What you'll do

• Define reliability solutions that best meet the needs of DSP engineering teams
• Align reliability solution development strategies with DSP engineering teams
• Help define the roadmap for reliability solutions
• Design & implement reliability backend services
• Design & implement service release pipelines
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve DSP reliability, continuously find the risks, and create solutions to mitigate them
• Establish and evangelize the highest level of operational excellence by supporting internal reliability solution onboarding

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• Backend software development experience involving API design and implementation
• Good communication skills to collaborate with different teams to build successful solutions
• Tech lead experience
• Experience with cloud service providers such as GCP, AWS or Azure. (GCP preferred)
• Software development skills in one or more programming languages.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with hands-on ability
• Experience working with real-time systems and highly scalable software architectures.
• Experience working closely with SRE, Production Engineering, or Reliability functions as a software engineer
