Staff Engineer – Public Works

Job summary: The Staff Engineer is responsible for design and engineering of utilities, highways, public works, infrastructure, and land development projects.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Prepare plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for highway and street geometric, traffic handling, site logistics, signing and striping, pavement delineation, roadway grading, site grading and earthwork, roads, sanitary and storm drainage, storm water data reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with agencies, utility companies, and clients.
  • Prepare meeting notes.
  • Perform site visits.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related degree from an accredited university


Required Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Certifications):

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • 1 + years of civil engineering design experience or MSCE


Preferred Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Certifications):

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Familiar with preparing Plans, Specifications, and Cost estimates
  • Familiar with utility agency coordination
  • Familiar with Local Standards
