Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field
• 6+ years of professional working experience within computer design or hardware engineering
• Professional working experience in computer hardware engineering pertaining to hardware design and ability to conduct testing.
• Experience with the following
• Hard drives
• Specification of Processors (CPUs/GPUs)
• Software RAIDs
• RAID controllers
• PCI's
• Active DoD security clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Computer virtualization – ProxMox, VMWare, KVM, etc.
• Linux OS – RedHat, Ubuntu, Rocky, etc.
• Computer Networking – OSI layered architecture, switch/router specification/configuration, network design, Cisco IOS, etc.
• Network analysis tools – Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a qualified Lead Computer Hardware Engineer in support of one of our large federal clients in Virginia Beach, VA. This candidate will be responsible for the testing and design of computer hardware components to assist with the creation of a homegrown computer software system for the US Navy. Their day-to-day includes but is not limited to:

• Testing and designing different computer hardware systems.
• Working with a group of engineers to design a next-generation SIGINT system.
• Researching different hardware systems to fit the what the current homegrown system needs run properly.
