Aurora Organic Dairy, a 2024 USA Top Workplace! is seeking an SQL Developer who will develop and maintain SQL data transformation logic to integrate the ERP and various systems within the organization, as well as developing and maintaining critical SQL reports, and industrial automation integrations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop an understanding of AOD business processes and the associated data to be able to respond to system integration and reporting requests.
  • Develop deep understanding of systems, system integrations and workflows in place at AOD:
    1. For improvement and simplification of workflows as identified, or as requested by users.
    2. Support the stability and resilience of plant data infrastructure and reducing the occurrence of help desk incidents.
    3. Support system improvements, troubleshooting, documentation and continuous improvement of the plant environments.
    4. Support the IT team in troubleshooting and maintaining the integrated business systems.
  • Evaluate data and interface requirements needed for various systems and ensure data is made available in a secure, reliable and timely manner.
  • Support PowerBI cubes and data transformation processes that feeds them.
  • Design and develop reports in SSRS as needed by users, including understanding requirements and working with users through the acceptance process to achieve sign off.
  • Develop SQL SSIS packages, SQL Jobs and other supporting SQL logic as needed for interfaces and reporting.
  • Follow quality assurance testing best practices for SQL interfaces and reports.
  • Responsible for understanding all systems and integrations in plant or IT infrastructure as input to solution design and automate processes.
  • Contribute meaningfully to maintaining documentation pertaining to plant data Infrastructure, including master data, systems that are live and integrations between industrial and business systems.
OTHER REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in:
    1. Multiple projects simultaneously.
    2. Team planning and resource allocation discussions.
    3. Prioritization discussions.
    4. IT process improvement discussions.
    5. Efficiency and Milk-Loss reduction projects.
  • Contribute to management of knowledge base documents, such as troubleshooting guides, templates, system architecture and business process flow diagrams.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with:
    1. Developing database objects such as Tables, Indexes, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and writing complex queries in a SQL Server environment.
    2. SSIS, ETL development and data integration between multiple systems.
    3. SQL Server, including writing and optimizing queries, stored procedures, packages, views, triggers, data integrity checks and jobs.
    4. Reporting and business intelligence tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
    5. Working with data models, understanding the relationships among database objects, and writing SQL to process and provide high quality data respecting referential integrity.
    6. Creating and updating documentation capturing data transformation logic, information regarding data sources and any code written in support of on-going projects.
  • Working knowledge of:
    1. ERP and Business Intelligence systems.
    2. Virtual Environments (Vcenter) running Windows Server operating systems.
    3. Management of Test and Production Environments.
    4. Communication systems and computer hardware.
  • Experience designing and developing user interfaces using .Net, C# and/or Java.
  • Proven experience with following development standards, best practices and change control processes, including a disciplined approach to testing and promoting changes across environments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit/stand and focus for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen and/or while utilizing various office equipment (calculators, copy machines, etc.).
  • Available for regular scheduled travel to remote facilities via automobile or airline.
  • May be on a plant floor for extended periods working hands on with Automation Engineers to troubleshoot data reporting issues.
