To continue to strengthen its base and support its growth in the US, Midea Laundry is extending its Research and Innovation capabilities. To lead this effort, Midea's Appliance Division (LAD) has opened a new position for a Software & Electronics Hardware Engineer. The Software & Electronics Hardware Engineer is a key member of the R&D Team in the US, helping drive breakthroughs on product designs and functionality as well as evaluating product quality and field failures.
The Software & Electronics Hardware Engineer will collaborate with other team members to design unique hardware and software solutions to progress innovative designs. In addition, the Engineer will conduct independent projects related to product development and quality improvement.
The Software & Electronics Hardware Engineer will be responsible for supporting software & hardware development and strategic direction of the following products:
- Top Load Clothes Washers
- Front Load Clothes Washers
- Clothes Dryers
- Responsible for the decision-making, planning and review of electrical control laundry products
- Responsible for solving PL, EMC and other related problems of electrical control laundry products
- Responsible for improving software algorithm design and software development efficiency of electronics
- Responsible for the formulation and writing of technical documents and standards related to electronics
- Guide software and hardware design to carry out electrical control product reliability software and hardware design.
- Guide and develop innovation and analysis solutions for LAD US Division electronics innovations.
- Responsible for electrical control design work of Midea America Research Center Laundry division.
- Using and teaching hardware design tools: Schematic Capture, PCB Layout (we use AutoDesk Eagle)
- Use of hardware equipment: DMMs, Oscilloscope, Spectrum / Network Analyzers, Function Generators, Logic Analyzers, Serial bus debugging
- Ability to generate new product & feature ideas and develop into working prototypes.
- Maintain a knowledge of marketplace and product trends, particularly regarding control systems.
- Ability to determine root cause failure analysis of field returned electronic hardware components.
- Collaborate with experts in China to maximize impact of projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Over 10 years' experience in technology, home appliance, CE, Ecommerce, or related industry
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineer with experience in software development or related, master's degree preferred.
- Proficient in C, C++, GitHub, Linux, with years of embedded development experience with good coding principals
- Design experience with both analog and digital circuits.
- Embedded H/W & Software design experience for appliance applications
- Knowledge of multiple computing platforms, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, etc.
- Experience designing electronics, control systems, electro-mechanical component connection, embedded control modules, and wire harnesses.
- Familiar with the use of hardware development design tools, such as AD, PADS, Cadence, etc., to carry out PCB layout design.
- Experience with various serial buses, printed circuit board design and layout, microprocessors, power supply circuits, display, and cap-touch technology.
- Familiar with the use of hardware development design tools, such as AD, PADS, Cadence, etc., to carry out PCB layout design.
- Successful execution of complex projects

- Simulation Tools: SPICE
- Experience with Linux or embedded RTOS.
