Position Overview:

As a Full Stack Developer , you will be responsible for building the customer facing side of our web applications. You will work as part of a team to implement new features, as well as make modifications to and fix bugs in our existing code. This position provides a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact on our newly launched Trovomics analytics platform.

We are seeking a technologically literate professional, curious about new technologies, who is great at working on teams. Ultimately, you are responsible for translating our customer and company needs into functional, intuitive and appealing interactive features.

• First week: Learn the ins and outs of RHI’s Trovomics division & get to know the team
• First month: Familiarize yourself with the Trovomics service& our development process.
• Start reviewing our legacy code base.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain both server-side and client-side network components.
• Ensure optimal performance and responsiveness of applications.
• Design customer-facing UI and back-end services for various business processes.
• Develop high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code.
• Implement effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions.
• Run diagnostic tests, repair defects, and provide technical support.
• Document processes, including database schemas, and prepare reports.
• Recommend and implement improvements to processes and technologies.
• Stay informed of advancements in web applications and programming languages.
• Develop visually appealing front-end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code.
• Design user interactions on web pages.
• Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support websites on the back end.
• Develop and design RESTful services and APIs.
• Stay current and provide insight on cutting-edge software approaches, architectures, and vendors.
• Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are considered when architecting solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and lead by example in coding standards and best practices.

Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks.
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Excellent knowledge of one or more back-end programming languages (including Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Familiarity with common software development and management tools such as Git, Jira, etc.
• Good understanding of common programming paradigms and architectural design patterns.
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Availability to resolve urgent web application issues outside of business hours.
• Ability to strategize and implement scalable solutions.

Required Experience:

• At least 7+ years of product development experience with time in a project lead role.
• Extensive experience with Node.js (minimum of 5 years preferred).
• Proven experience in leading development teams and managing projects.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science or other related fields.
