This position reports to
AAS Controls Engineering Group Leader
Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

You will be mainly accountable for:
*Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
*Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
*Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
*Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.
- Associate's Degree with minimum 15 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree with minimum 13 years experience (Bachelor's in Engineering - Preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of automation and robotic systems applications. Specifically, material handling, machine tending, part washing, and vision guided robotics applications / Efficient using AutoCAD or EPLAN to generate control system packages.
- Preferred Experience Include:
- 15+ years of automation programming experience.
- Functional electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills including competence in industrial machinery controls design.
- Robot programming experience primarily with ABB products.
- PLC/HMI programming experience with an emphasis on Rockwell, and Siemens architectures.
- Functional experience programming VFD's and Servo controllers.
- Familiar with international standards (IEC, ISO, NFPA, NEC, UL) and / or familiarity with Chrysler, Ford, and GM standards and specifications.
- Ability to travel about 20%.
