Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Microelectronics Manufacturing Process Engineer for 2nd Shift Microelectronics Assembly.

There is a differential (higher pay) for second shift.

The Microelectronics Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Process Development

  • Developing new and maintaining or improving existing manufacturing processes with a focus on affordability.

  • Creating and managing project plans for process development activities.

  • Providing ROI justification for process improvements.

  • Specifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness.

  • Developing and optimizing process parameters.

  • Developing/revising process documentation and work instructions.

  • Assisting with design of custom tooling.

  • Supporting manual and automated microelectronics machinery.

Factory Support

  • Monitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements.

  • Creating, validating and maintaining automatic equipment programs.

  • Solving manufacturing problems in a timely manner.

  • Assisting with the training of new personnel.

  • Supporting factory maintenance personnel with troubleshooting and repair of process equipment.

  • Working in cross-functional teams to execute RCCAs and lean initiatives.

  • Interfacing with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Design Support

  • Recommending product design improvements to produce advanced microelectronics products.

  • Documenting state-of-the-art process capabilities and guidelines for product designers.

  • Participating in design producibility reviews for new products.

Basic Qualifications for An Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience (0 years with a Masters).

  • Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience.

  • Fluency in MS Office software applications.

  • US Citizenship.

  • Ability to work second shift, which starts around 3pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with J-STD and MIL-STD hardware requirements.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma process improvement.

  • Experience with the design or manufacturing of microelectronics technology and materials.

Salary Range: $75,700 - $113,500
