We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a CNC Machinist supporting the Optical Tooling Team , in Duluth, GA, a typical day will include:
Maintain, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance for precision diamond turning lathes, manual and CNC machining equipment and metrology equipment associated with tool fabrication.
As needed, operate precision diamond turning lathes and metrology equipment associated with tool fabrication.
Set-up, calibrate, maintain and perform basic functionality assessments for equipment in optical tooling lab.
Works closely with engineers for developing, implementing and resolving optical fabrication processing problems
Ensures good housekeeping practices are applied in maintaining the lab functionality.
Ability to keep equipment for tooling fabrication in good standing.
Ability to work independent and deliver on time on all assignments.
Ability to maintain proper records and good housekeeping.
Ability to interact with tooling engineers and other personnel in the lab.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
High School Diploma or equivalent
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
3 Years of Relevant Experience
Work hours:40 hours
Travel: up to 5%

Preferred Experience:
Experience as an electromechanic or similar
Familiarity with precision/ultra-precision CNC equipment
Working in a machine shop is a plus
Fanuc, Haas, and/or Heindenhain CNC experience a plus
