Mechanical Design Engineer

The ideal Candidate will develop and integrate product concepts from scratch using vague/basic customer specifications through prototype and testing. This individual will create system models, test products and make adjustments where necessary. Additionally, they will examine products and resolve issues for future designs.

Responsibilities

• Complete design studies, tolerance stack-ups, layout, drawings, calculations, weight estimates and provide supporting documentation
• Manage efforts of major component suppliers to ensure on-time development of subsystems
• Prepare and present design development status to management and customers
• Coordinate design development and assigned project Designers, performance analysis, and making necessary adjustments as needed
• Supported Engineering Department, check design work to verify layout, fit, form, function, materials, specifications, and other details/documents as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years' experience working Automotive Vehicle Controls (Steering, Acceleration, Braking etc.), Mechanical Parts and their Human Interface
• Proficiency with CAD (CREO preferred) based Design Systems
• Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing
• MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCE
