Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to assist with our projects in Detroit, MI!
Key Responsibilities

• Design and preparation of a variety of municipal water/wastewater and roadway design projects.
• Assist with coordination with fellow MSG staff across a variety of services sectors including: Surveying, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction, etc.
• Leading the preparation of transportation design plans/3D modeling for local agency transportation and/or municipal utility projects.
• Perform and check various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package.
• Providing technical expertise/guidance to junior staff
• Preparing special provisions, plan development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 8+ years practical experience in design and plan preparation of municipal utility and roadway projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE certification in the state of Michigan.
• Experience with industry design standards (e.g. MDOT, AASHTO, MUTCD, etc.)
• Understanding of guidelines and specifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading or Open Roads Designer is required.
• Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports and roadway design experience is preferred.
