Flow machines (pumps, fans, compressors) are one of the largest consumers of energy on the planet and account for approximately 35% of global electricity consumption. ITT is developing new technologies in electric motors, power electronics and smart connected devices that reduce energy of flow machines as much as 50%.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Engineering Intern is assigned to assist the test lab with testing power electronics and electric motors and help the engineering team with mechanical design duties.Install, assemble and testing of electro-mechanical systems in lab environmentRecord information and results about product performanceAssist in creating drawings for fixtures, components and assemblies in PTC Creo.Assist in the commissioning of new test rigsCommunicate with customers, team members, engineers and managers to determine possible problems or update individuals with work progress, on a daily basis.Decipher drawings, diagrams, blueprints and instructionsPartner with mechanical or electrical engineers to fine tune the testing and diagnostic processesRecommend upgrades and modifications to improve system performanceMaintain all tools, equipment and components by performing inventory and scheduled maintenance tasksOperate manual tools safely to avoid accidentsMaintain documentations of system installation and maintenance proceduresMaintain cleanliness and organization in test labPosition RequirementsWhat do we offer?You will work alongside talented and diverse colleagues from the engineering team.
