Akkodis is seeking a Engineering Program Manager for a Contract position with a client located in San Jose, CA.


Pay/Salary Range: $50-$55/hr. (Depends upon experience)


---Must have exp. in managing programs during the EVT, DVT, and PVT phases--


Duties and Responsibilities

Our Team works with teams from Engineering, Supply Chain, Compliance and Support in planning, execution and delivery of optical Hardware development programs. We are seeking a hardworking, passionate Program Manager to join our Program Management Team, to manage industry leading Optical Hardware Development programs within the Service Provider Group.


The primary responsibilities of the role are:

  • Manage moderate complex development programs
  • Prepare program plans and schedules, working closely with Teams from Engineering, Supply chain and support functions
  • Identify risks and devise mitigation plans to avoid or minimize impact and deliver products per commitments (Schedule, Quality, Budget) Lead and complete large-scale, client-driven projects. Communicate with clients and customers to determine their needs or requirements. Develop, design, and implement


Description

  • Accurate program budget planning and tracking, pro-active management of budget and spending, making appropriate decisions to meet budget goals
  • Manage prototype activities, including identification of key components, planning of build schedules and management of proto allocations
  • Lead program team and ensure all cross-functional members are performing as required o Conduct program reviews and provide/present accurate program status and progress reports to Program Teams and Senior Management
  • Ensure that program follows Cisco/ISO/TL9000 processes Other PM Core Competencies and Responsibilities
  • Interface/Communication – shares information and communicate clearly to team members o Influence/Impact – promote cooperation between team members
  • Teamwork - Understand team dynamics and collaborate as a cross-functional team member. Involve others, where appropriate, in shaping plans and decisions that affect them.
  • Problem Solving – identify problems and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Planning/Reacting - Develop realistic action plans, steps, project timetables. Anticipate problems and develop contingency plans
  • Supervision – receive general instructions and follow standard practices and policies. Consult with senior program managers or supervisor on complex assignments

Essential Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of Program management experience in Hardware Engineering Development or similar environment
  • Technical Competence to the degree required for effective
