Leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for an Electrical Department Manager for their Detroit team!
Responsibilities:
- Manage department/work with Project Managers on a variety of projects (Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects)
- Prepare discipline specific work plans/estimates
- Oversee production of work and ensure projects meet QA/QC standards
- Supervise staff and ensure project meets performance metrics and department goals
- Client communications to manage expectations
- Provide technical support
- Maintain backlogs/manpower forecasts to ensure proper staffing levels/department utilization
- Manage staff resources (annual reviews, timesheets, expense approvals, professional development)
- Assist with recruitment/training
- Assist with business development including participation in various trade organizations
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- 8+ years of electrical design/project management consulting experience
- PE License preferred
- Experience with electrical system studies (short circuit, over-current device coordination and Arc Flash Hazard analysis per NPFA 70E)
- Experience/knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), State Energy Code, NFPA guidelines, and FGI guidelines
- PE License preferred
- Working knowledge of design/analysis software (Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP and Easypower)
- Knowledge of standard construction practices
