Director of Supply Chain

The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for supply chain management of the division, including distribution, inventory management, procurement, material savings and quality assurance. This position provides strategic leadership and direct supervision for these functions and develops policies, procedures and work instructions. Key measures of success will include material savings, on-time delivery/Turn-time reduction, inventory utilization, stores management and employee satisfaction.

Director of Supply Chain Duties:

  • Develops and maintains department policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Manages daily operations of the distribution center and its employees to ensure timely and accurate shipment of products.
  • Implement demand management processes, implement new and rotable inventory to maximize utilization, reduce inventory minimize excess and obsolescence and meet financial plans.
  • Develops inventory management systems and processes for new part distribution and rotable/exchange programs.
  • Develops and maintains division quality assurance manual and ensures compliance to procedure.
  • Placement and management of purchase orders for new, serviceable or repairable hardware to support customer orders or inventory replenishment.
  • Placement and management of repair orders for repairable hardware to support customer orders or inventory replenishment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the department manager.
Requirements:

Director of Supply Chain Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or relevant field. (Experience in lieu of degree will also be considered.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of aerospace experience that includes:
  • Selecting, managing, and developing employees
  • All disciplines of the supply chain, including planning and procurement.
  • Prior experience in a high complexity aftermarket repair and overhaul environment with multiple line items (over 10,000) and an inventory budget of over $50M.
  • Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and/or related accessories/components
  • Must have a process improvement background with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar methodology
  • Advanced analytical skills including heavy spreadsheet analysis and business system experience (current system is SyteLine ERP)
