Electrical Engineer

On Site in Fremont, CA

Contract Start: 10/28/2024

Contract End: 10/27/2026


This position pays between $57.00 and $93.00 per hour.


Experience:

• Large scale system level design experience involving different sub components.

• Cable and cable harness design

• PCB design & layout experience preferred

• RS232, Ethernet, Ethercat bus experience preferred

• 208/408VAC, breakers, contactors and distribution box design preferred

• Safety Certification, S22 preferred

• 24VDC digital IO preferred

• SAP/Product-Lifecycle-Management online documentation system

Job Description:

• Design and modify IO and power cables and PCBs.

• Find component replacements and test obsolete/End of life components

• Drive solutions to field problem reports.

• Conduct design reviews when necessary

• Check electrical drawings and schematics before production release

• Work with mechanical and software engineers to solve field and/or new design problems

• BOM (Bill of Material) structuring for new/updated parts

• Online documentation in a Product-Lifecycle-Management system


Skills:

Requirements:

• Must be motivated; job requires a “Sherlock Holmes attitude” to find the correct resource/tool

owner or technical expert.

• Must be self-directed/independent as well as able to work in a team

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Strong computer proficiency

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities

• Schematic capture CAD experience; OrCAD preferred

• BOM management software experience

• Proficient in MS office products required

Education:

BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering


  • OTHER RECRUITER INFO: More of a support role with some light design: Checking more than designing, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.
  • Work with PCB processes. If a board goes obsolete, work with team to get new boards tested and in place.
  • Do some standard EE tasks, such as work with pie regulators, couplers, components, etc...
  • Determine design approaches and parameters.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • May also review vendor capability to support product development.

• Semiconductor capital equipment experience is a plus but not required.

• Have a good basic understanding of electrical engineering principals, standards, voltage and current limits, power distribution principles, etc...

• Experience with PCB design process - would be good to know Orcad or Altium - both a plus, not required.

• Cable & Harness design experience helpful with Zuken E3 (a plus, not required); could be done in AutoCad or some other CAD software.

•Experience applying system design models like the Systems “VEE” is a plus, but not required.

• Appreciates learning and understanding challenges and limitations within other disciplines on system designs

• Understanding of system integration into customer facility
