We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to mentor, guide, and support development teams in delivering high quality applications for Corteva R&D. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will not only be an engaging people leader for your teams but also a strategic, inspiring, and influential member of the larger Software Engineering management team.
What You'll Do:
- People management responsibility to hire, onboard, mentor, and develop all members of your team.
- Help team members set and achieve goals through ongoing guidance.
- Create an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and engineering leadership.
- Share your passion for learning and exhibit a drive for excellence.
- Be a thought leader, challenge norms, and express non-traditional solutions to problems.
- Lead team members to follow best practices for the development, delivery, and support of high-quality applications on-time, in scope, and within budget.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams and business partners across Software Engineering, FS&D, and Corteva R&D.
- Contribute to the technical and strategic success of Software Engineering.
- Continually stay informed with the latest software development industry trends.
Qualifications
What Skills You Need:
- Experience working on a team developing software applications.
- Additional experience as a technical, team, or people leader.
- Proven experience mentoring team members to the next level.
- Possess a strong curiosity and drive to innovate.
- Self-driven individual with a strong desire to continuously learn.
- Ability to solve complex problems with creative solutions.
- Understanding of the software development application life-cycle.
- Effectively communicate technical information in a non-technical fashion.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a diverse environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Background or interest in biology, chemistry, genetics, or agriculture and the ability to understand and the desire to solve complex scientific problems.
- Familiar with technologies such as Angular, Typescript, C#, .Net, Node, and RESTful API Services, Git, Python, and other languages and frameworks.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipeline tools, Cloud platforms, and development tools.
- Experience with multiple agile development methodologies.
