Eligible for a $1,500 signing bonus. This position requires that candidates have prior automation design experience.
Summary
This position has responsibility for the design, drafting, assembly, development, troubleshooting, and documentation of Custom Assembly Automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Machine design and assembly.
  • Generate mechanical and electrical CAD drawings.
  • Design quality automation in efficient (profitable) timeframes with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Documentation of engineering changes.
  • Ability to generate and maintain machine Bill of Materials (BOM's).
  • Work with mechanical components, bearings, pneumatic systems.
  • Utilize electrical sensors, PLC's, motor drives, vision systems, etc.
  • Design assigned mechanical assemblies as directed by management.
  • Work closely with engineers to develop new automation systems.
  • Analyze and record test results and prepare written testing documentation.
  • Machine build follow-up, revisions, and documentation.
  • Hands on automation assembly and development.
  • Assist with automation setup, startup, troubleshoot, and debug at EAM or at customer facility.
  • Travel to perform service, training, and/or machine installations.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned to aid Prescott Metal/EAM to achieve its goals.
Minimum Qualifications/Technical Knowledge Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient with drafting practices and symbols.
  • Design of new automation parts using 3D solids.
  • Skilled with Computer Aided Design software-SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, (familiarity with AutoCAD).
  • Ability to generate mechanical fabrication drawings, including tolerances.
  • Ability to generate bills of materials.
  • Ability to design and build mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems, components, and assemblies.
  • Familiarity with automated control systems and components.
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
  • Experience writing and editing technical machine manuals.
  • Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, squares, and scales.
