The Role:

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Hardware and Software Test Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for the development lifecycle to test, validate, and enhance our integrated systems as well as provide detailed technical feedback to the engineering team. An average day as a Test Engineer at TAG will see you handling some combination of the tasks below:

1. Supporting the testing, documentation, integration, and design of both commercial and custom hardware and software components, which entails the following:

a. Design and perform functional, regression, performance, and stress tests for hardware and software components.

b. Write and maintain test procedure and documentation to meet system requirements.

c. Perform engineering lab support functions including, ordering, stocking, calibration, tracking, and general lab and equipment maintenance.

d. Assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting of hardware and software components.

e. Record performance metrics and present feedback to TAG engineering staff and partners.

f. Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to enhance product performance and reliability.

g. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, follow best practices for integrated systems, and assist with the design of new hardware and software components.

h. Occasional Travel to Testing Locations

2. Supporting the customer, which entails the following:

a. Identify and solve standard technical issues related to hardware, firmware, software, and data communications and receive guidance on complex problems from the customer. Seeks direction when necessary.

b. Write and maintain customer support documentations and instruction manuals.

c. Act as a representative and point of contact for TAG by providing remote technical support for users and customers.

d.Occasional travel to user demonstrations and events.



Requirements: (You MUST bring these skills to our team.)

1.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, land surveying or similar technical field or demonstrated equivalent technical experience.

2.Minimum 1-3 years of experience

3.Experience with basic hand and power tools.

4.Experience with laboratory test equipment- oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers, power supplies, soldering iron, etc.

5.Strong verbal, writing, and documentation skills.

6.Ability to lift 50 lbs.

7.Capable of carrying and walking with 20lbs for up to 5 miles.

8.Eligible to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

Nice to Haves: (You don't need to have all of these, but they sure help.)

1.GIS or Geodesy experience strongly desired.

2.Ability to work independently, as well as having the ability to collaborate with team groups.

3.Experience with Android, Windows, and Linux.

4.DoD Secret or TS cleared
