Selectek is partnering with a company located near Atlanta, Georgia to fill an Automation Engineer role on a contract-to-perm basis. This client focuses primarily on the oil and gas industry. They are seeking experienced hands to oversee junior engineers/designers, as well as design and develop PLC programming.Employment Type: Contract to PermanentExpected Pay Range: $45-$60 per hourLocation: Northern Atlanta, GAJob Requirements:- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical (BSEE) or computer engineering- 10+ years of experience working in automation and controls design- Proficiency with Allen Bradley (A-B) software will be crucial- Knowledge of various PLC and HMI software packages such as Rockwell, B&R Automation Studio and GE PLCJob Details:- Perform automation and controls design evaluations on-site- Travel to job sites for commission and initial start-up of processes. Travel will be 20-30 percent of the job time to start.- Troubleshoot PLC programs and solve engineering challenges as they come.- Coach and train junior engineers until they are ready to oversee implementation and commissioning themselves.- Develop some PLC programming systems from initial design through their commissioning- Specify electrical components for power distribution, PLCs, I/O, motion control and communicationIn addition to these requirements, candidates must hold United States citizenship, per the client’s request.
