Overview
THE ROLE:
The Research and Development Technical Operations Process Engineer will work onsite, providing technical support for the Herbalife Innovation and Manufacturing (HIM-WS) site to facilitate new product introduction, assure supply continuity, and improve product quality and manufacturing process efficiency.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE :
Under supervision, assist with revising manufacturing procedures for blending and packaging (master batch records revisions).
Work multi-functionally with various departments to investigate issues related to raw material, and process design.
Assist with developing basic rework procedures.
Assist with simple formula changes (e.g., overages, excipient amount/grade) to commercial products
Implement data entry and maintenance of formula information within production database (Oracle OPM system).
Assist with review of formula specifications to ensure raw material inputs meet label claims.
Prepare benchtop samples for raw material/process verification.
Develop Pilot Manufacturing Batch Records.
Complete HIM-WS pilots for process scale-up verification. Manage Pilot schedule. Source raw materials as needed for pilot production.
Maintain WS pilot equipment, documentation and lab upkeep. Adhere to safety, document and equipment standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Assist with implementing protocols required for equipment and manufacturing process evaluations.
Evaluate alternative raw material suppliers.
Assist in HIM-WS process improvement initiatives that improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency and cost savings.
Prepare and submit samples to the testing lab
Interacts with testing labs to collect and analyze data test results.
Complete Technical Operations tasks within the Herbalife Nutrition project management system (Agile PPM system).

Qualifications
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision
Ability to prioritize multiple activities and prioritize workload for effective process
Timely and appropriate results orientation
Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
Ability to function as an effective team member
Competent use of MS Office, particularlyMS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work with pilot scale equipment.
Ability to demonstrate good document practices to ensure accurate collection and confidentially of proprietary information
Experience:
2-3 years relevant proven experience in a Prodduct Development, a Laboratory or a Manufacturing Engineering role.
Experience with New Product Process /Appropriate Product Lifecycle Management (e.g. Agile).
Manufacturing process design for product introduction and scale up.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or other related technical programs or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Solid understanding of Agile and Oracle systems and of pilot scale equipment.
Experience working in a GMP environment. Familiarity with nutritional and botanical ingredients through prior work experience
Experience working with other departments that collaborate with R&D: QA/QC, Regulatory, MFG, and Supply Chain
