Jr. Staff Engineer will support to project engineers and program managers with design validation and the creation and/or revision of technical reports in support of major commercial aircraft and spaceflight programs. Initial responsibilities will be basic and will increase as skills develop. Jr. Staff Engineer should expect a minimum of 50% of work time to be generating reports to document analysis results and engineering design characteristics. Typical responsibilities include deriving mass properties tables from solid models, creating material usage lists from engineering drawings, working with engineers to generate FMEA reports, reliability analysis calculations and reporting, generating material testing reports, and compiling mechanical and physical property data reports. The Jr. Staff Engineer will assist the program manager to help keep projects on track while working on various tasks, including hardware assembly and testing under supervision.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintain focus on assigned tasks with strong time management and work prioritization skills.Accurately perform various engineering calculations.Write technical reports based on analysis from senior level engineers.Demonstrate adequate development in the following areas through course of contract:FMEA and component reliability calculationsNon-Destructive Evaluation methodsMechanical properties of materials and materials testingWork closely with project manager to provide progress updates and reliably meet commitments for completion of tasks and reports.Interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and engineering documents to generate tables, charts, and figures to be compiled into reports for customers.SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in mechanical and or aerospace engineering.Working knowledge of CAD (Preferably SolidWorks)Strong Excel skillsHigh level of attention to detailWe're an equal opportunity employer.
