What You'll Do

The BCG FED Organization is seeking a knowledgeable and talented Data Security Engineer that will be responsible for operating and maintaining the BCG Data Governance program in alignment with NIST 800-171, CMMC and IT Security best practices.

Your duties will include:

  1. Management of the Data Lifecycle for BCG and Client data as data is ingested, stored, processed, transmitted, and purged from the system.
  2. Ownership of the Business Continuity strategy for data.
  3. Enhance and maintain the Data Classification strategy in alignment with business and client requirements.
  4. Translate compliance and client contractual obligations into a data protection schema.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and cloud teams to lead effective process improvements.
  6. Provide monthly metrics reporting, identify, and manage gaps in data protection policy, and work to resolve.
  7. Document Data Protection process and procedures.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

  1. Strong comprehensive problem-solving skills to identify and solve issues quickly.
  2. Ability to work well independently as well as part of a virtual, geographically dispersed team bringing a sense of urgency to the tasks at hand.
  3. Effectively handle difficult and stressful situations with poise, tact and patience, while demonstrating a sense of urgency.
  4. Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and quality-minded.
  5. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

You Bring (experience & Qualifications)

  1. 5-8+ years of experience in information security.
  2. 3-5+ years of Data Classification technical capabilities and strategies.
  3. Encryption and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) experience.
  4. Experience with Business Continuity to include backup capabilities.
  5. Ability to foresee and identify mitigation strategies for risks.
  6. Knowledge of security issues, trends and best practices.
  7. Experience with Microsoft Azure and O365.
  8. U.S. citizenship required.
  9. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (if required).

Compensation

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.

Some local governments in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of base compensation. We expect your total annualized compensation to be approximately the following:

  1. In Washington D.C. the base salary is between $135,000-165,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
  2. In other locations, competitive pay is commensurate with the role and geography.
  3. Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-16%.
  4. 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period.
