Join Sedaro as an early and critical team member as we develop the world’s first digital twin platform for complex systems. Sedaro is hiring a Senior Software Engineering Manager to help achieve our mission of building infinitely scalable system simulation software in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in software development, cloud-based systems design, and management over a team of high-performing software developers. They will have the ability and desire to drive team productivity by setting clear goals, optimizing workflows, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

This role is critical in driving the development of our cutting-edge platform and ensuring the successful management of the engineering team in support of the Company’s strategic goals. Sedaro’s Senior Software Engineering Manager will celebrate autonomy while giving and receiving constructive feedback, and pushing the team to meet tight deadlines. They are motivated to own a project from start to finish, and can understand the big picture and how it fits within all aspects of the business. This person is familiar with many industry leading programming languages and frameworks as well as tools including the MS Office Suite, project management software and modern DevOps technologies. This is a full-time, in-person position located at our corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA and will report to Sedaro’s CTO.

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead the engineering team in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions
  • Continuously improve on the technological vision, strategy, and roadmap to drive product innovation and ensure Sedaro’s platform is at the forefront of the industry
  • Oversee and implement best practices in architecture, security and scalability to support the growth of our platform
  • Mentor, inspire and grow the engineering team to foster innovation and technical excellence
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to continuously evolve our technology stack and approach
  • Develop slide decks, written reports, and sprint plans based on complex and continuously evolving customer needs
  • Ensure the engineering team understands technical requirements for each milestone deliverable in order to meet all customer needs
  • Track major milestones in an agile software development methodology

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in an engineering management role with demonstrated abilities in the following:
    • High standards for quality of work and team member performance
    • Setting project schedules and holding team members accountable
    • Strong interpersonal skills alongside deep technical understanding
    • Leading constructive conversations and performance reviews
  • Proven ability to push an engineering organization forward and accelerate productivity
  • Strong experience with cloud native architectures, SaaS platforms, and industry leading development practices
  • Expertise in software development, system architecture, and infrastructure management, with a focus on scalability and security
  • Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams in a high-growth environment
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, GitLab, and other program management and scheduling software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other relevant degree

Additional Desirable Experience:

  • Understanding of modern DevOps processes
  • PMP Certification or similar
  • Master’s degree (or progress towards) in engineering, business, or other relevant degree
  • Familiarity with the space industry is a plus but is not required
