The F5 Distributed Cloud User Experience team is searching for a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer to innovate and lead F5 design in the SaaS space. As a Senior UX Designer, you’ll work shoulder to shoulder with our product teams to build a cohesive experience across the common platforms ensuring that it stays aligned with the business objectives, product strategy, user expectations, and design system. You will stand in close collaboration with product managers, other UX designers, and developers – delivering designs, guiding implementations, testing concepts, and leading peer design reviews and workshops. We are seeking a Senior UX Designer with a strong understanding of coding principles and experience working on complex user interfaces, who exudes critical and logical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their design skills and technical knowledge to create intuitive, user-friendly designs for our auto-generated configuration forms.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management, engineering and schema designer teams to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and user experience.
  • Drive the product design effort across all visual design stages, from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
  • Envision and drive product changes that ensure long-term value for the company and users.
  • Constantly research competitor UI/UX and technical solutions.
  • Together with engineering teams and schema designers conduct schema reviews to ensure the product generates streamlined and easy to use forms for different use cases.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Establish, document, and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback; implement collected feedback effectively into the product.
  • Collaborate effectively with the rest of company Design community and Design System team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of schema design and API-first product development.
  • Proven UX design experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Excellent technical and conceptual thinking and effective and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and prototypes.
  • Excellent knowledge of UX components and principles.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JSON.
  • Solid visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
  • Experience working with product management and engineering teams and used to rapid development process.
  • Up to date with the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Able to efficiently collaborate with fellow UX designers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX experience in an enterprise or startup setting, or degree equivalent.
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in one of the following or similar programs: Design, HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • A deep history of working directly with customers to understand their context and needs.
  • Proficiency inside the iterative design processes.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and tasks.
  • Experience in user-centered design for responsive enterprise apps.
  • Keen understanding of Information Architecture, Interaction Design, and Visual Design principles.
  • Ability to adapt a design to the scenario and explain it in the language of your desired audience.
  • Ability to put the needs of the user and goals of the business before your own personal preferences.
  • Ability to back design decisions with appropriate HCI research.
  • Firm grasp on front-end technologies and standards: HTML5, CSS3, JSON, 508 Accessibility, ADA compliance, etc.
  • An empathetic, user-centered mindset.

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $147,292.00 - $220,938.00
