Machine Learning Engineer

MUST have experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Please do not apply to this position without this experience.

• 5 years experience as an engineer
• Could be tech / F500 or start-ups, ideally start-up should have some ML/data focus
• Experience with working on non-mature infrastructure (some big-tech candidates have only used internal tools)
• Must be Python literate
• Open sourced any projects while working professionally
• Evidence of thinking more “globally” in scope
• Evidence of promotions (ideally Senior+)
• Focus on data systems / ML Ops
• Supporting model deployments (k8s, Cloud native tools (elastic beanstalk, cloud run), docker, etc.)
• Database optimization (SQL / noSQL, postgres, mysql, mongo, cockroach, dynamodb, could include full search tools: elastic, algolia, or vector DBs etc.)
• Big data tooling (BigQuery/snowflake/redshift/athena/presto/trino, structures like parquet/iceburg etc.)
• Orchestration (dagster, airflow, step functions)
• Evidence of “systems” design and thinking
• End-to-end projects that often span teams + require a lot of buy-in
• Complete product, i.e. recommender, RAG system, automated trading system, etc.
