Websphere/Portal Developer

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HCL Portal Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new HCL Portal Themes and Skins, as well as migrating existing IBM portlets and applications to modern frameworks without impacting functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and understand existing IBM portal Themes and Skins to inform design decisions.
• Design, develop, and test new HCL Portal Themes and Skins that align with project requirements.
• Review and understand the existing IBM JSF1.x implementation of portlets.
• Research, design, document, and migrate IBM JSF1.X portlets to MyFaces while maintaining existing functionality.
• Integrate new MyFaces with the latest HCL Portal Themes and Skins.
• Review and understand the existing Struts implementation to assess migration needs.
• Research, design, and document the latest version of the Struts framework.
• Develop a proof of concept for migrating Struts1/Struts2 applications to the latest version of Struts and integrate with new Themes and Skins.
• Deploy applications to HCL Portal Server 9.5 and WebSphere Application Server 9.x.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience with HCL Portal development and IBM portal themes.
• Proficiency in JavaServer Faces (JSF) and MyFaces.
• Experience with Struts framework (versions 1.x and 2.x).
• Familiarity with application deployment on HCL Portal Server and WebSphere Application Server.
• Excellent research, documentation, and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• 3+ years in HCL Portal or related development experience.
• Must be a US Citizen based on US law and regulation as well as suitability requirements.

Compensation: $50 - $55 an hour
