The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects.
As a member of the Cross-Mission Effectiveness Department, you will provide technical capabilities to support our customers in modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of space, air, and ground-based systems of systems to investigate architecture and concept of operations (CONOPS) performance in nominal and contested operating environments. MS&A focus areas include agent-based modeling, red vs blue simulations, military utility and capability drawdown, killchain effectiveness, enterprise architecture resiliency, and command and control (C2) evaluation. We support a variety of customers with diverse program portfolios, and we are looking for curious and innovative teammates to help us address our customers' hardest problems!
This 100% onsite position can be filled in either of our El Segundo, CA , Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO offices.
What You'll Be Doing
- Use and contribute to development of in-house and commercial- and government-off-the-shelf engineering analysis software tools.
- Conduct technical deep dives, trade studies, and assessments in multi-disciplinary teams to define problems and support customer decisions.
- Develop and deliver timely and technically accurate presentations and reports.
- Travel occasionally (as necessary) to support customer efforts.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced (M.S. or Ph.D.) degree from an accredited college/university programin engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
in engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research or closely related technical field from an accredited school. - 0 - 1 year of industry experience
- Proficiency with orbital mechanics, space operations, or killchains.
- Skill with a programming language including or similar to Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- A history that shows personal accountability, a desire to learn, and an ability to adapt to varying tasks and priorities.
- This position requires the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance (TS) with SCI access, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Experience with a toolkit or framework including or similar to AFSIM, STK, or GMAT.
- Direct experience with agent-based modeling, red vs blue simulations, military utility and capability drawdown analysis, killchain effectiveness, enterprise architecture resiliency, and command and control (C2) evaluation.
- Significant and consistent contribution to a substantial technical analysis or software tool development project.
- Current and active Top-Secret Clearance (TS) with SCI access.
