Purpose and Scope
The Senior Project Engineer serves as the key resource in developing and managing the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for Tolmar's capital projects (CAPEX) involving manufacturing processes, utilities and facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and manage multiple large and small projects simultaneously, from development of project scope and design documents through oversight and completion of all construction, commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) activities.
- Lead project plan development (i.e., prepare/review project proposals, goals and objectives budget, scope, user requirements specifications, functional specifications, timelines, deliverables, milestones, risk assessment, roles and responsibilities, etc.).
- Serve as main point of contact for capital project(s), ensuring key initiatives are met and on time delivery of critical milestones.
- Coordination of internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate project requirements are identified to facilitate project design.
- Proactively manage project scope requirements, schedule, and budget cost tracking.
- Effectively communicate and manage (i.e., lead and drive results) cross-functional people/teams at multiple levels within the company.
- Understanding of P&ID's and how to interpret sequencing.
- Proactively identify project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies in alignment with project team(s) and stakeholder.
- Assist in developing strategic, long-term, and annual site capital plans.
- Carry out project engineering responsibilities in accordance with the organization's goals, policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws & regulations.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to manage contractors, vendors, and architectural & engineering firms.
- Working knowledge of plant utility systems, HVAC, clean rooms and sanitary equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Project controls management.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment to provide solutions to complex technical and engineering problems.
- Knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Office/Tools, Basic AutoCAD skills.
- Proficient in project management and presentation tools (i.e., MS Project, Excel, etc.) report writing, and oral presentation.
- Familiarity with FDA, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory and safety compliance guidelines pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, technologies, and cGMP regulations.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or relevant scientific discipline required.
- 10 years of experience with capital projects involving industrial, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical facilities, laboratories, clean room environments and HVAC, compressed gases and water systems modifications.
- Mechanical construction knowledge is a plus.
- An understanding of pharmaceutical (cGMP's) or related manufacturing facilities and utilities, technologies, and documentation.
- Application of project management life cycle management, standards, and methodologies.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

- Field construction, laboratory, office, utilities, and manufacturing environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $140,000 to $150,000 depending on experience.

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience.
