DESCRIPTION:
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop lean manufacturing processes, provide technical support to all functional departments, and develop robust manufacturing solutions. The incumbent will work collaboratively with internal and external customers to provide technical solutions while effectively managing processes, policy, and strategy changes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develop product configurations, bills of materials, and methods utilizing corporate ERP systems.
  • Develop assembly and procedures for production of components.
  • Support transition of product from development to volume production.
  • Estimate manufacturing cycle times and deploy standards in manufacturing software system.
  • Interpretation and validation of manufacturing processes and documentation in accordance with required specifications.
  • Support design reviews to ensure parts can be manufactured efficiently and in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Construct Manufacturing and Assembly drawings using Solid Works CAD drawing system.
  • Conceptualize and create designs for cutting tools, shop aids, fixtures, and test support tools.
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of parts or services.
  • Support shop production to facilitate and deploy best known methods.
  • Will commonly use geometry and trigonometry in product definition.
  • Work on cross functional teams for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Conformance to ISO procedures and FMI established protocols.
  • Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
  • Understand the importance of designing, building, and operating safe systems. Basic knowledge and understanding of safety work processes.
  • Demonstrate commitment in the successful EH&S management of chemical processes and facilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in precision manufacturing industry
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Manufacturing/process knowledge strongly desired
  • Experienced in SolidWorks design
  • Experience in developing and documenting manufacturing process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to create and present technical reports to large groups of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in coordinating failure analysis test plans (destructive and non-destructive
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle delicate parts.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
  • Regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts, ovens, and risk of burns.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work in a normal office setting with frequent visits to the manufacturing floor.
  • The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit).
  • Low noise levels in office environment.
  • High noise levels while working near operating machines.
  • Physical hazards while working near moving equipment and mechanical parts.
  • Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust, and mist.
