Position: Lighting Applications Engineer

Position reports to the Marketing Manager

Job Location: 1718 W. Fullerton Ave. Chicago IL

Job Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

1. Assist senior designers in the implementation of lighting designs.
2. Transform handwritten sketches and field measurements into CADD format.
3. Maintain an organized folder structure of design documents.
4. Receive custom quote requests from the sales department and allocate them to the proper party.
5. Communicate effectively between multiple departments and the customer to create custom product quotes and layouts.
6. Review and edit potential quotes from team members.
7. Provide additional detailed product information as needed.
8. Provide engineering and production departments with assembly instructions for custom products.

Requirements

1. 2+ years of professional experience in the Architecture, Interior Design, or Lighting industries.
2. Strong understanding of perspective and 3D modeling.
3. Ability to communicate effectively, read and interpret plans and specifications, make neat and accurate architectural drawings, prepare lists of materials from architectural plans, detect errors and discrepancies, organize data, and prepare reports in a clear and concise form.
4. Product knowledge of lighting fixtures and lighting control devices. Working knowledge of structuring lighting systems would be a plus.

Required Experience

1. Architecture, Interior Design, or Lighting Industry: 2 years.
2. Solidworks: 2 years.
3. AutoCAD: 2 years.

Required Software Knowledge

1. Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD: 1 year.
2. SketchUp and AGi32: preferred, but not necessary.
