Traffic Project Engineer

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer with our Transportation team. In this role you will work on various transportation projects with state and local transportation agencies. As a project engineer, you will perform engineering analysis and supporting calculations/documentation relating to traffic safety and operations. You will also coordinate the drafting of project deliverables for various clients. The ideal candidate has experience with traffic and safety and comprehensive knowledge of local and CTDOT standards.

Location

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Glastonbury, CT office.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Create and execute project work plans.
  • Manage project analysis and deliverables.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, with team members, senior staff, and external clients.
  • Interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders, including the DOT.
  • Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events.

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 4 years of diverse and progressive civil transportation and traffic engineering experience.
  • Licensed PE in the state of CT or planning to obtain licensure within one year.
  • PTOE License is a plus!
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience working with public agencies and/or municipalities. DOT experience is preferred.
  • Progressive experience with developing plans analysis and reports per DOT standards and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Advanced use of project-specific software such as CADD, Synchro, GIS, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
