Chapman Consulting, Inc. (CCI) is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the W-2 position of Project Engineer. Projects in this role primarily revolve around the production and midstream sectors of the oil & gas industry but may involve other industries as well. Project Engineers in CCI generally handle the project management aspects of technically oriented or engineering-heavy jobs. A Project Engineer does NOT typically handle the detailed engineering but must be able to review drawing packages and understand the technical concepts in order to manage a project. This individual would be responsible for understanding the scope of work, planning & scheduling, leading meetings, coordinating with external vendors, coordinating with internal engineering and design teams, reviewing and checking drawings, communicating directly with the client, and following up with Project Director.

Project Engineer responsibilities typically include:
-An understanding of client, industry, regulatory, and other guidelines, codes, etc. (CFR, ASME, API, etc.)
-Familiarity with reviewing P&ID's, construction packages, and engineered drawings
-Generating proposals and planning project budgets
-Coordinating and managing vendor bid packages
-Interacting/deconflicting with applicable regulatory bodies
-Submitting applicable permit requests
-Ensuring projects stay on schedule & cost tracking
-Regularly coordinating engineering and design support
-Generating applicable project procedures
-Coordinating with all vendors throughout the project duration
-Project closeout/completion reports
-Documentation control
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
-4-year degree in engineering from an accredited university (Industrial or Engineering Technology does not qualify for this position)
-A professional demeanor with good communication skills
-3+ years of relevant engineering experience with midstream or process piping projects (knowledge of process piping -system design, pipeline design, pumps, compressors, valves, vessel design, pipeline maintenance or operations, or facility maintenance and construction are all pluses)
-Experience with procurement or construction coordination is a major plus
-Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
-Willingness to learn new subjects as well as mentor junior staff (a collaborative attitude is a must for this position)
-Ability to adapt to working on different projects with varying scopes
