Saxon Aerospace is currently searching for a Quality Engineer to join a growing manufacturing company in the Skagit Valley region. This full-time, direct-hire role offers long-term growth and competitive benefits and salary.
A successful quality engineer will have excellent troubleshooting skills and will be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Interpret design requirements to create quality documentation such as Quality Plans, Qualification Test Procedures, and Acceptance Test Procedures
- Develop new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance
- Prepare inspection and sampling plan procedures
- Prepare, review, and audit inspections in accordance with quality standards
- Perform audits and qualify new suppliers and internal manufacturing and testing, and routing sheets
- Develop and approve supplier inspection plans including tooling or equipment used for inspection
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB), and the nonconformance process. Support the change management process
- Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to remove process waste and variation and drive improvements
- Assist in improving an effective, efficient, and consistent Quality Management System
- Train employees on the Quality Management System manufacturing requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality standards, manufacturing processes, and documentation
- Detailed knowledge of GD&T and/or materials engineering
- Working knowledge of quality system models
- Experience and training in Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques (PFMEA, DMAIC, VSM)
Annual Salary: $80,000-$105,000
