Minimum qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 8 years of experience in Software development and with data structures/algorithms.
  3. 7 years of experience with research or applied AI in software development or a similar domain.
  4. 7 years of experience with machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning, natural language processing) and tools (e.g., TensorFlow).
  5. 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and with testing/launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Experience with prompt engineering.
  2. Experience with deep learning/LLM-based products or platforms.
  3. Experience with research communities/efforts, including publishing papers in machine learning and NLP conferences (e.g., ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, etc.).
  4. Excellent programming skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  1. Lead research explorations or applied AI efforts to develop and use Generative AI models to transform software development workflows.
  2. Collaborate with Developer AI Applied Research and Google partner teams (e.g., Search, Ads, Cloud, YouTube, etc.) to envision, explore, and deliver new Generative AI capabilities to improve developer workflow.
  3. Collaborate with Developer AI Platform teams to enable delivery of new Generative AI capabilities.
