Job Description:

Trilliant is seeking a Software Engineering Manager who will be reporting to the Global Vice-President of software development. The Development Manager will be responsible for the complete development lifecycle of our product software roadmap. He will be managing a Java software team that is located in two locations: Cary, North Carolina, and Granby, Québec.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute the company’s product roadmap strategy to drive innovation and product development in the field of smart grid, smart city, and IIOT.
2. Lead and coach a talented team of Java developers and engineers to drive excellence and innovation in R&D activities.
3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, global support, and customer operations to ensure alignment of R&D initiatives with business objectives and market needs.
4. Oversee the design, development, and testing of new head-end system software platform to meet market and customer-specific needs.
5. Work with the program management office to build and track release plans within schedule and budget.
6. Drive continuous improvement and optimization of R&D processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, quality, and speed to market.
7. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress, milestones, and outcomes of R&D initiatives.

Position Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing software development teams.
2. 8 plus years of experience with Java Development.
3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Experience with the development of scalable Java software platforms and applications.
5. Strong technical expertise in building scalable and robust back-end systems.
6. Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle including key performance indicators.
7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead teams through change and uncertainty.
8. Experience in Agile methodology and scrum-based teams.
9. Solid knowledge of DevOps technologies and continuous integration and continuous delivery.
10. Fluent with the Atlassian suite, Jenkins, NEXUS, Sonarqube, and security of software applications.
11. Prior experience in metering and telecoms are excellent assets.

Education/Certification:

University degree in Software Engineering or Computer Sciences.
