STARGATES, Inc - an engineering and technology company with a focus on providing specialized services and technical solutions to a variety of federal and defense agencies, has an immediate opening for an experienced Systems Engineer !

The selected candidate will support the Navy by supporting tasks in the areas of systems engineering; requirements definition, systems definition, analysis, and verification and validation, for a portfolio of surveillance systems!

Title: Systems Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary: $135k - $145k

Terms: Full-time

Schedule: On-site (standard core hours)

***Active Secret Clearance at minimum - TS/SCI preferred***

SUMMARY

STARGATES has global experience leading integrated teams providing Systems Development & Integration, Cyber Security and Information Assurance, and Software Development services. This includes operating, maintaining, maturing, and defending large scale (ACAT 1), complex, enterprise-wide networks for the DoD and federal agencies. Our direct expertise includes providing support to the Navy, DISA, DHS, and other DoD organizations and programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Physics, or Mathematics
  • 7+ years of experience with systems engineering, engineering, or procurement for military systems
  • 3+ years of experience in a Navy Systems Command, Acquisition, or Integration Program Office or System Provider
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Facilitate Integrated Product Team (IPT) and technical review meetings
  • Participate in the review of technical data packages
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience in the Navy or supporting Navy programs
  • Experience in representing system architectures using Digital Engineering software and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts
  • Experience with developing system architectures and interface control documents
  • Knowledge of fiber optic communications systems or high voltage power distribution
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Certifications, including CSEP or ASEP

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Support development and review of system performance specifications and system architectures by applying knowledge of electrical and mechanical hardware systems, sensor technologies and applications, and computing systems and software design
  • Facilitate Integrated Product Team (IPT) and technical review meetings
  • Participate in the review of technical data packages
  • Identify technical deficiencies, analyze problem reports, solutions, and provide recommendations
  • Evaluate and support existing systems life-cycle sustainment requirements
  • Contribute to the acquisition and development of next-generation sensor, processing, and systems to support the Navy's missions
  • Provide technical input to the development of contractual acquisition and procurement documentation
  • Review and evaluate requirements traceability, verification and validation documentation
