Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Engineer/Associate for our Buildings and Structures Practice in our Menlo Park, CA office. In this role, you will work as part of a team, perform tasks and execute projects related primarily to evaluation of building component and material failures, with particular emphasis on concrete and other cement-based materials. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of diverse and interesting civil engineering projects that will challenge your problem-solving skills and collaborate on projects with Exponent professionals practicing in other technical disciplines within the company.

You will be responsible for

  • Conducting field inspections and determining the root causes of failures
  • Conducting laboratory testing and analyses
  • Gathering information and conveying complex technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and industry

You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering with graduate level focus on concrete and cementitious materials
  • Excellent and creative problem-solving ability
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead and work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the United States. No immigration sponsorship or processing required

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonuses, and 401(k) employer contributions.

Salary Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
