Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and support data pipelines to move data from the enterprise application to our data lake/warehouse analytical stores. You will collect and monitor the metrics necessary to quantify system performance and forecast future capacity needs.

Responsibilities

1. Develop data pipelines.
2. Work closely with the Data Warehouse team and other Engineering teams to ideate and collaborate on solutions.
3. Serve as a thought leader within the Tech Organization to build new and improved data tools and services.
4. Conduct assessments and development of Operational Dashboards with a focus on Azure.
5. Compare and optimize current operational dashboards to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
6. Test the data pipeline code to ensure quality builds.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
2. 8+ years of experience in BI Engineering and Data Engineering.
3. Experience in schema design for decision support, particularly dimensional data modeling, building data marts, and data lakes.
4. Strong skills in SQL (query plan optimization, windowing functions, aggregate design, for example).
5. Expertise in Snowflake, PostgresDB, Redshift, or DataBricks.
6. Experience with Python.
7. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
8. Good communication and leadership skills.
