Title: Senior Software Engineer - Product Owner

Your Responsibilities:

As a Product Owner within the Power Electronics Software team at John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) in Fargo, North Dakota, you will lead a software development team for one of our Inverter or Converter product lines. The person in this role will participate in requirements development, manage the backlog of software work, and lead a development team in programming, debugging, and hardware integration and verification activities. This position requires innovative architectural development and detailed design and analysis of embedded software systems.

  • This person will independently plan, coordinate, and perform tasks to meet quality and delivery goals.
  • This position requires a high degree of technical judgment, independent thinking, experience, and unique development approaches to find solutions to dynamic challenges.
  • This person will mentor other embedded software engineers.

What Skills You Need:

  • 5 or more years of experience in embedded software development using real-time operating systems, task schedulers, and configuring microcontroller peripherals.
  • 5 or more years of development experience with the C programming language.
  • 5 or more years of experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • 5 or more years of experience employing rigorous process measures to ensure product quality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle uncertainty and ambiguity.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience using model-based software development (Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow).
  • Experience with hybrid electric systems.
  • Experience with test automation using Hardware in the Loop systems.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as J1939, ISO11783, UDS, TCP/IP.
  • Experience with control systems (e.g., electro-mechanical control or electro-hydraulic control systems).
  • Other programming languages such as C# or Python.

Education:

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited engineering program.
