Location: Remote position with preference for Pennsylvania
Commitment: Temporary position starting in July and concluding in November 2024, with a possibility of extension.
Who We Are: The Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance (API PA) aims to empower Asians and Pacific Islanders in Pennsylvania through political, electoral, and legislative work, direct voter engagement, and building solidarity with other communities of color.
The Work You'd Be A Part Of: API PA is launching programs in 2024 to address issues important to Asian Pacific Islanders in Pennsylvania, promote voter registration and education, and provide in-language support for API voters.
Your Day-to-Day Work (Essential Functions):
- Phone-Banking: Engage in phone conversations with voters and community members
- Participate in phone bank training, debriefing sessions, and organization-wide meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements
Requirements
- Access to a computer, internet, and phone
- Tech literacy to use a cell phone and be trained on a dialer system
- Conversational fluency in English
Necessary Skills
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Ability to work independently and with diverse staff
- Knowledge/experience working with Asian American communities
- Commitment to API PA's values
- Conversational fluency in an Asian language is highly desirable
- Prior phone banking or similar experience appreciated
Hours: 12-30 hours/week, flexible shifts including some weekends
Salary: $15/hour starting
